Clinical Observation On Combining Methods Of Warming Yang And Replenishing Qi And Activating Blood With Chemotherapy For The Middle And Advanced Non-small Cell Lung

Objective:According to the basic theory of TCM, modern pharmacological research and years of clinical experience of Professor Li Shijie, the method of warming yang, replenishing qi and activating blood combined with chemotherapy is applied to the treatment of 54 patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) at their middle and advanced stage. Randomizing the patients into two groups with controlled trials, changes of tumor size, symptom remission rate, life quality, toxic side effects of chemotherapy are observed before and after the treatment. Finally, the clinical efficacy of this integrated therapy for middle and advanced NSCLC get evaluated, which will provide a reference for the future clinic treatment.Methods:54 patients with middle and advanced non-small cell lung cancer pertaining to blood stasis due to yang deficiency were equally randomized into treatment group and control group. Patients in the treatment group were given NP or GP Chemotherapy, and modified Wenyang yiqi Huoxue Decoction (prepared Fupian 5g, Guizhi 5g, Ganjiang 5g, Danggui 10g, Chenpi 5g, Mahuang 3g, Shuizhi 5g, Mengchong 5g, Tu biechong 5g, Taoren 10g, Honghua 10g, Chuanxiong 10g, dried Rensheng 30g, Huangqi 30g, Antler Glue 15g, prepared Dihuang 30g, Gancao 3g), a prescription self-prepared by Professor Li shijie, was added from the day before administrating chemotherapy, while patients in the control group were treated with chemotherapy only. After 2-week therapeutic courses, changes of tumor size, clinical common symptom, living quality index, body weight, blood routine and hepatic and renal function were observed in both groups to evaluate the improvement of quality of life, short-term therapeutic effect and toxic reactions of the chemotherapy.Results:1. The treatment group was superior to the control group in both lesions efficient and stability factor, but it’s without statistical significance (P>0.05);2.Compared with the control group, life quality of patients in the treatment group was significantly improved(P<0.05);3. As to improving syndrome mentioned in TCM, the treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.05);4.During the treatment, blood toxicity and gastrointestinal reaction of patients in the treatment group were all slighter than those in the control group, showing significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:Combined with routine chemotherapy, to apply prescriptions with actions of warming yang,replenishing qi and activating blood to treatment of middle and advanced NSCLC can significantly improve patients’syndrome, promote their quality of life and reduce series of chemotherapeutic reactions.
