OBJECTIVE: Allergic rhinitis is a common disease in the Department of Otolaryngology. The pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis is relatively complicated,in recent years the Th1/Th2 cytokine imbalance in the pathogenesis of AR is more and more attention. Detection of the level of interleukin-13 and interleukin-25 in allergic rhinitis patients. To explore interleukin-13(IL-13), interleukin-25(IL-25) relationship with the pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis(AR) and its clinical significance.METHOD: Select 64 patients with allergic rhinitis : These cases are in line with the Chinese Medical Association of Otolaryngology Head and neck surgery credits rhinology group diagnostic criteria. According to the criteria, the patients with persistent allergic rhinitis were divided into mild group and severe group of 32 cases. Also randomly selected 20 cases of deviation of nasal septum and nasal bone fracture patients as normal control group, the patients in the control group without allergic rhinitis history, personal and family history of allergy. The age and gender differences were not statistically significant. The level of IL-13 and IL-25 in serum of 64 patients with allergic rhinitis and 20 controls was measured with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) and using statistical methods to analyze each result and correlation.RESUITS: Mild group, moderate group and control group in serum concentrations of IL-13 is(21.58±7.80)ng/L,(61.02±11.72)ng/L,(10.94±0.93)ng/L.Patients with persistent AR group, mild group and the severe group levels of IL- 13 in serum is higher than the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Mild group, moderate group and control group in serum concentrations of IL-25 is(122.28±49.66)ng/L,( 327.44±56.79)ng/L,(65.65±2.46)ng/L.Patients with persistent AR group, mild group and the severe group levels of IL- 25 in serum is higher than the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The level of IL-13 and IL-25 was significantly higher in the moderate or severe persistent group than that of mild persistent group. There was statistical difference between the two groups(P<0.05).IL-13 showed positive correlation with IL-25 in patients with persistent AR(r=0.979 P<0.05).CONCLUSION: IL-13 and IL-25 levels in serum of patients with allergic rhinitis were significantly increased, indicating that both IL-13 and IL-25 are involved in the occurrence and development of allergic rhinitis. In severe allergic patients serum IL-13 and IL-25 increased significantly than in the mild group, also known as the higher the level of IL-13 IL-25, the patients with more serious. The concentration of IL-13 was positively correlated with the concentration of IL-25, further confirmed that IL-25 can promote the secretion of IL-13 in the pathogenesis of AR.
