Objective To:To explore the effect of interleukin5(IL-5)and interleukin16(IL-16)in pathogenesis of patients with allergic rhinitis (AR),and discuss theirclinical significance. Methods:From March to August of2014in our outpatient clinic,64cases ofpatients diagnosed with the persistent AR as the experimental group, the20cases with deviation of nasal septum and fracture of nasal bone as thecontrol group. The protein level of IL-5and IL-16in serum of patients withallergic rhinitis were measured with enzyme-linked immunosorbentassay(ELISA) and their correlation with the allergic rhinitis wasanalyzed. The results were statistically analyzed by SPSS19.0software.Results:Compared with the control group, high level of IL-5and IL-16wasdetected in the persistent AR patients(P<0.05).The level of IL-5and IL-16was greatly increased in the moderate orsevere persistent group than that of mild persistent group. There wasstatistical difference between the two group(P<0.05).IL-5showed positive correlation with IL-16in patients with persistentAR (r=0.566,P<0.05). ConclusionIL-5and IL-16may participate in the occurrence and development ofAR.IL-16may indirectly aggravate allergic rhinitis inflammation bystimulating the generation of IL-5.The expression levels of IL-5、IL-16in the serum of patients withallergic rhinitis, may provide immunological basis for the clinical diagnosisand efficacy of AR.IL-16has a high specificity and it has important clinical implicationsfor the early diagnosis of AR.
