Objective:Improved synthesis of vitamin E acetate, to increase product yield, reduce production costs, simplify operation and reduce pollution.Methods:2,3,6-Trimethylphenol as the starting material to synthesize 2,3,5-Trimethyl-p-benzoquinone (TMBQ) by orthogonal experimental design. TMBQ reduced to 2,3,5-Trimethylhydroquinone (TMHQ), TMHQ with isophytol to get the a-Tocopherol, acylated to get the Vitamin E acetate.Results:The target product was obtained; the target compound and key intermediates were confirmed by MS and NMR.Conclusion:The improved synthesis uses low production costs, could be readily industrial production potential.
