Objective:To compare the effect of intra-articular pulsed radiofrequency and sodium hyaluronate injection for knee osteoarthritis(OA). Methods:The standard of patients were randomly divided into two groups, treatment group include eleven patients with OA were received intra-articular pulse radiofrequency(PRF),Contral group(16 cases)with sodium hyaluronate intra-articular injection. The Lysholm index of the knee joint and VAS were evaluated in the two groups respectively. Results: Between the two groups,VAS in treatment group at 1 mouth after the treatment were lower than that in contral group, the Lysholm index were higher than the contral group at 1 month after the treatment(P<0.05), VAS in treatment group at 3 month after the treatment were lower than that in control group(P<0.05),the Lysholm index at 3、6 month and VAS at 6 month in twe groups were no statistical difference(P > 0.05),treatment group curative effect of no significant difference with control group after 6 months, but after 1、3、6 months by treatment than before treatment VAS scores were lower, Lysholm knee function score varying degrees of increase. Conclusion : both intra-articular pulsed radiofrequency and sodium hyaluronate injection for knee osteoarthritis are the effective treatment in the short-mid term, but knee osteoarthritis patients pulse radiofrequency treatment are more effective compared with intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate,in the short term.
