Objective To investigate the correlation between TLR5 rs2072493 A/G and ANCA associated vasculitis(AAV) in Guangxi people and compare the relationship between the gene and the clinical manifestation. Preliminary explain the relevance between TLR5 and Guangxi people. Methods The TLR5 rs2072493 A/G polymorphism was analyzed by polymerase chain restricted fragment length polymorphism in 117 cases with AAV and 207 age and gender matched controls. Clinical manifestation and pathologic data of the patients with different genotype were also compared with the case-control.Results(1) The frequencies distribution of TLR5 rs2072493 A/G genotype AA, AG and GG in 117AAV patients were 47.0%、41.0%、12.0% respectively, and the controls were 50.2%、43.5%、6.3%.The frequencies of allele A and G in the AAV patients were 67.5%、32.5% and the controls were 72.0%、28.0% respectively. No significant difference was found in neither genotype distribution nor allele frequencies between the cases and the controls (P>0.05).(2) It was found that the significant difference in the arthralgia among the A/G genotype and it is more common in the GG genotype (P>0.05). Significant difference were also found in the reduction of the UA and the increase of the ALB and hemoglobin A in the GG genotype than those in the other two genotype (P<0.05), and the UA of GG genotype is much lower than that of AA and AG genotype while ALB and IgA in GG genotype is much higher than that in AA or AG genotype.(3) 88 cases underwent renal biopsy in the 117 AAV patients and the pathology scores comparison show no statically significance among the three genotype (P>0.05).Conclusion The polymorphism of TLR5 rs2072493 A/G is widely common in Guangxi people but may not susceptible to the AAV; But it may be associated with the arthralgia, UA, ALB and IgA in the AAV patients.
