| ObjectiveIn order to avoid the interference of the diagnosis of illness and to prevent it from covering patient’s condition, the using of analgesic drug s is prohibited, before the diagnosis or in the anti-inflammatory treatme nt process of acute appendicitis. During the period of conservative treat ment or operation preparation, patients often groan and howl because of th e unbearable pain. The innovation of this paper is to find a simple, esay to operate, effective, low side effects method for analgesia to ease the pain of the patients. The purpose of this study is to verify the effectiv eness of these two methods and to obtain a better therapeutic method to treat acute appendicitis, by observing the difference of instant pain-reli ef effect of body acupuncture and auricular needle on acute appendicitis.MethodRandomized controlled clinical research methods was used in this stud y. According to the diagnostic criteria, inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria,60 patients with acute appendicitis in emergency department sur gical department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine from April 2015 to March 2016 were selected and divi ded into two group (auricular acupuncture group and body acupuncture grou p), each group with 30 patients. Selected points of body acupuncture grou p:Shangjuxu (on the right), Lanwei point (on the right), Tianshu (on the right) and Daheng (on the right), Hegu (on both sides), Quchi (on both si des); Selected points of auricular acupuncture group:Lanwei point, large intestine point, sympathetic point, Shenmen, liver and adrenal cortex. Tw o groups were needle for 30 minutes, in the retention process, manipulatin g needle was necesaary to enhance the intensity of stimulation of the nee ds of patients. Half an hour before and after the treatment, each patientw as assessed the degree of pain by using the wheat-Ji pain questionnai re short table (SF MPQ) to record the score before and after the treatmen t. In this study, pain relief index was took as the standard of curative e ffect evaluation, and the differences were compared within the group andb etween groups and the related data were analyzed by statistical softwares PSS20.0.ResultsBefore treatment, there was no difference in the genderã€ageã€course o fdisease and other general information of the patients between in auricul ar acupuncture group and body acupuncture (P>0.05), comparable. Before treatment, there was no difference between the two groups in the scores o f PRIã€VASã€PPI and TS (P>0.05). The baseline was consistent, comparable. Af ter treatment, the scores of PRIã€VASã€PPI and TS in both groups decreased, which was confirmed not due to sampling error but caused by the pain-reli ef effect of the body acupuncture and ear acupuncture treatment according to statistical test (P<0.01); each patient’s pain relief index (â–³PRI〠△VASã€â–³PPIã€â–³TS) could been obtained through subtracting the scores of PRI, VAS, PPI, TS score of everyone before treatment from which after tre atment. The degree of decline of score about the four indicators decreased in the auricular acupuncture group were higher than that in the control g roup and the statistical test showed that the result was not caused by th e sampling error and the difference was statistically significant (P<0. 01).Conclusions1. Ear cupuncture and body acupuncture treatment both had the instant pain-relief effect on acute appendicitis.2. The instant pain-relief effect of ear acupuncture treatment on acute appendicitis was better than body acupuncture treatment. |
