T here is a lot of description about the diagnosis and treatment of facial paralysis since the ancient times. Clinical studies on facial paralysis i s still frequently reported now. In order to know more about the facial p aralysis treated with acupuncture and find out more support for the futur e clinical research, this study is designed.ObjectiveThis research attempts to collect the literatures about the treatment o f acupuncture on Bell’s palsy.Then using associated rules algorithm and f requency measurement to analyse acupuncture prescription for data mining. This study is expected to provide more support for clinical in the futur e,and find out new knowledge for acupuncture treatment on facial paralysi s,and literature finishing, and clinical research.MethodsTo collect clinical research literatures on Chinese Joural Database (VI P)、CNKI, Wanfang datalibrary, and the Chinese Biomedical database(CBM), which is treated with acupuncture about Bell’s facial nerve paralysis lit erature. ALL literatures are published from January 1,1995 to December 31, 2014, with keywords as "paralysis" or "Facial nerve palsy" or "Facial p alsy" and "Acupuncture". There are 6935 relevant literatures. Finally 33 4 article are identified for the study. All relevant content in the liter ature meet the bring in standaerd is inserted into Microsoft Excel 2013 d atabase. And then to start the data mining by IBM SPSS20.ResultsThe acupuncture prescription pattern of treatment on facial paralysis i s consistent with the traditional theory. Today we still follow the princ iple of the ancients, such as meridians pass through demands priority.In the course of research, we also found that we didn’t pay enough att ention to Qi.The scholars who follow the principle of waiting for Qi ha ve unique views about Qi.Data mining techniques can be used to achieve the management of large, complex data and new knowledge. Data mining shuld be to provide a new pat h of development for the informatization development of Chinese medicine.
