The Curative Effect Observation Of Shengmai Zhenwu Jiuxin Decoction In Treatment Of Chronic Heart Failure

ObjectiveThis study is to investigate the clinical effect of a Chinese medicinal formulae, called Shengmai Zhenwu Jiuxin decoction, self-developed by Professor Huang Chunlin. The patients with chronic heart failure who are TCM for the heart and kidney yang deficiency, water and blood stasis mutual knot pattern are chosen. Clinical evidence for its therapeutic effect is provided through the statistical analysis of the Quality of Life Scale and the cardiac function.MethodsPatients with chronic heart failure were selected from Dade Road Institute of Guangdong Province Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The patients were divided into either the experimental group(20) and the control group (20) and numbered by simple random method. Data from patients were recorded. According to the experiment, the experimental group were treated by routine medicine treatment combined with Shengmai Zhenwu Jiuxin decoction, while the control group were only treated by routine medicine treatment. The heart failure clinical symptom were observed. The QOL (Quality of Life) scale and the NYHA (New York Heart Association) classification were recorded one week before and after treatment. The resulting data would be processed and analyzed with SPSS.ResultsIn the experiment group, the difference between QOL scores before treatment (102.89±18.78) and after treatment (34.95±10.56) had significant differences (P=0.00). In the control group, the difference between QOL scores before treatment (106.00±13.42) and after treatment (51.05±12.59) had statistical significance (P=0.00).The differences of values of QOL scores between the the experiment group (67.95±15.26) and the control group (54.95 ±5.24) before and after treatment had statistical signif icance(P=0.001). On the aspect of NYHA classification, both of the two groups have the efficiency rate of 100%in the heart function improving. And the differences between the experimental group and the control group had no statistical significance (P=0.106).ConclusionResults show that after the treatment, the therapeutic effects of patients in two groups were better than that of before treatment in improving the quality of life and heart function. The experimental group was better than the control group in terms of improving the quality of life. But in terms of improving the heart fuction, the two treatments showed no significant differences. In conclusion, combination between Shengmai Zhenwu Jiuxin decoction and routine medicine treatment could improve quality of life in the patients with chronic heart failure who are diagnosed as the heart and kidney yang deficiency.water and blood stasis mutual knot pattern.
