Objective:To explore the expression and clinic significance of CD74 in PCa,and analyze the relationship between the prostatitis and prostate cancer (PCa).Methods:1) A total 56 cases of PCa,55 of adjacent tissue of PCa,33 of PIN were enrolled in this study. The inflammation cell was observed under microscope in the PCa tissue. Expression of of CD74 were determined using by immune-histochemistry in different prostate tissues.Result:1) The rate of inflammation was 39.3%,87.65% and 89.2% in PCa, peri-glandular and interstitial tissues, respectively. Compared with the PCa tissue, there were significant differences in the peri-glandular and interstitial tissues, (P <0.05)2) The Expression rate of CD74 was 48.2%,39.3% and 82.3% in the PCa, PIN and adjacent tissues, respectively. Compared with the PCa and PIN tissue, there were significant differences in the adjacent tissues of PCa (P<0.05)3) The Expression rate of CD74 was 58.8% and 80.3% in stroma cells and adjacent tissues of PCa, there were significant differences both of tissues (P<0.05)4)The Expression rate of CD74 was 36.1% and 61.5% in different PCa Gleason grades (Gleason scores≤ 7 and Gleason scores> 7),there were significant differences(P<0.05).The expression level of CD74 was higher in the infiltration cancer cells and its surrounding stroma in the poorly differentiated PCa.Conclusion:Prostatitis may be relative with the pathogenesis of PCa, and CD74 may play an significant role in the oncogenesis and development of PCa, tumor invasion, and it might be a potentially valuable indicator to evaluate the prognosis of patients with PCa.
