Epimedium (EPIMEDII FOLIUM) is a traditional Chinese medicine with nourishing kidney, enhancing yang, strong bones and muscles, avoiding rheumatism. It is mainly used for the treatment of Kidney failure, impotence, soft bones, muscles atrophy, rheumatism and numbness Spasm. At the same time, the pharmacologic activities were different between crued and processed products.The crued product is mainly used for rheumatism and strong bones, while, the processed product has nourishing kidney and enhancing yang. The probably reason was that the chemical constituents changed during such as glycoside hydrolysis, oxidation, isoamyl alkenyl cyclization, processing material impact on its chemical composition. Epimedium processing, such as glycoside hydrolysis, oxidation, isoamyl alkenyl cyclization, processing material impact on its chemical composition.Firstly this thesis summarized the species, chemical composition, biological activity, processing methods and progress of the Epimedium medicinal plants. the hydrolytic experiment of Epimedium sagittatum was studied, and a large number of active ingredients such as Icaritin and dehydration Icaritin were obtained by optimizing the process conditions. The polymorphs of Icaritin and dehydration Icaritin were studied. Combining the possible material basis changes of the Epimedium in the course of processing, the chemical structure of Icaritin was modified. The thesis presented that in the processing procedure of Epimedium, the material basis of Epimedium may be affected by the chemical component of mutton fat. And in the last, all the work was summarized in this thesis.8-iso-amyl alkeny and the flavonoid of the Epimedium original medicinal materials exist in the form of glycoside. So, in order to get a lot of Icaritin and dehydration Icaritin, the hydrolysis method of total glucosides of Epimedium was explored, and the conditions were optimized. Compared to the total synthesis method of icaritin, this method is more simple and effective, the yield was improved greatly, and the production process was simplified. At the same time, the Epimedium glycoside was as the raw materials, so Icarisid was prepared in high yield by controlling the hydrolysis conditions. We found that the existence of different crystal types and different dissolution features by analysising crystal types of Icaritin and dehydration Icaritin.Taking into account 8-iso-amyl alkeny and the flavonoid of the Epimedium original medicinal materials may be oxidized, cyclization. The processing pr-ocess was simulated by chemical synthesis methods, and Icaritin, dehydration Icaritin as raw materials, a series of compounds were obtained such as 3,5,7-trihydroxy-8-(3-hydroxy-3-methylbutyl)-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-4H-chromen-4-one(2), 3,5,7-trihydroxy-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-8-(3-methylbut-2-en-1-yl)-4H-chromen-4-one (3),3,5-dihydroxy-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-8,8-dimethyl-9,10-dihydropyrano[2, 3-f]chromen-4(8H)-one (4).Confirmed that the isoamyl alkenyl flavonoids chan-ge possibility in the prcess of processingWe found that suet oil reacts with 8-iso-amyl alkeny and the flavonoid to form an ester in the process of Epimedium processing. A series of compounds were obtained such as 3,5-diacetoxy-dehydration Icaritin (8),3,5-dioleyloxy dehydration Icaritin(9),3,5-dipalmitoyl group dehydration Icaritin (10),3,5,7-triacetoxy Icaritin (11),3,5,7-three oil acyloxy Icaritin (12),3,5,7-three palmitoyl group Icaritin (13).
