ObjectiveThis topic was statistically analyzed by selected patients’ sexes, ages, durations, types and complications. Integrated TCM therapy associated conventional treatment and alone with traditional Chinese medicine decoction associated conventional treatment were compared perceptively in order to investigate the relationship between the changes of each muscles group and the changes in immune parameters between before and after the treatment of myasthenia gravis. Summarized 52 patients’epidemiological data and analyzed the treatment mechanism of integrated traditional Chinese medicine therapy on myasthenia gravis patients. In addition, the prospective applications of these two treatment strategies for treating the myasthenia gravis were preliminary discussed. These data can provide some references for carrying out future researches on myasthenia gravis, and also can provide a standardized and propagable TCM comprehensive treatment program for clinical myasthenia gravis treatment.MethodsObserved the effects of Integrated TCM therapy associated conventional treated myasthenia gravis patients based on clinical symptoms and the improve situation of lymphocyte transformation rate. By recording the general information and the regular blood observations of treated group and control group myasthenia gravis patients 20 days, the change of LBT between before and after treatment can be investigated. By applying Xianhao Xu myasthenia gravis symptom absolute rating scale, absolute and relative ratings score corresponding to between before and after treatment of myasthenia gravis can be compared, respectively. Compared the changes according to two groups after the immunotherapy by statistical analysis, and then inspected whether they had statistical differences or not and the corresponding reasons. At last, compared the clinical efficacy of two groups of patients by using the Integrated TCM therapy associated conventional treatment and simple traditional Chinese medicine decoction associated conventional treatment.Results1. Epidemiology Results:The patient number for both treatment group and control group were 26, including 21 male patients,31 female patients. There were 7 typeⅠ cases,16 type Ⅱ a cases,23 type Ⅱ b cases,2 type Ⅲ cases, 4 type IV cases among 52 patients.12 patients with thymic abnormalities, accounting for 23.1%, of which 10 patients underwent thymectomy. Also, there were 5 merge thyroid abnormalities cases which accounting for 9.6%,6 cases of diabetes which accounting for 11.5%, and 2 cases of concurrency malignant tumors which accounting for 3.8%.2. Immunological Results:In the treatment group, each gender groups, all age groups of T lymphocyte transformation rates between before and after treatment comparison were statistically significant (P<0.05).3. Symptom Score Results:Totally 52 patients after treatment measures of the treatment group and the control group, the invalid rate of the scores between before and after 20 days was 34.62%(18 cases), the treatment group and the control group of patients with efficiency were 80.77%(21 cases), and 50.00%(13 cases), respectively. Tested the efficiency of the two groups by chi-square, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).ConclusionIntegrated TCM therapy associated conventional treatment and simple traditional Chinese medicine decoction associated conventional treatment can both improve the T lymphocyte transformation rate of the patients with myasthenia gravis. Also, they both played a role of improving cells immune function in patients. The result shows that applying integrated TCM therapy to cure myasthenia gravis has some promotional value.
