ObjectiveTo assess the value of ultrasound(US) and Superb Micro vascular Imaging(SMI) in the diagnosis of carotid artery stenosis.MethodsFrom August 2014 to March 2015 in Beijing Anzhen hospital, a total of 37patients(70 blood vessels) with extracranial carotid stenosis were examined by ultrasound and SMI at the same time, the results of DSA were used as a golden standard. The results of ultrasound and SMI were comparatively analyzed.ResultsThe accuracy, sensitivity and specificity of conventional ultrasound in the diagnosis of carotid stenosis were 81.42%, 83.33% and 80.95% respectively. The accuracy, sensitivity and specificity of SMI in the diagnosis of carotid stenosis were91.43%, 92.16% and 89.47%, respectively.ConclusionUS has good agreement with SMI in assessing carotid artery stenosis, used SMI technology can more accurately determine the extent of the stenosis of carotid artery, is expected to for clinical provide examination method of a more reliable evaluation of carotid plaque and stenosis.ObjectiveTo investigate the consistency of Superb Micro-Vascular Imaging(SMI) and contrast- enhanced ultrasound(CEUS) in the diagnosis of neovascularization in carotid plaques, and analyzes the application value of SMI in the diagnosis of neovascularization in carotid plaques.MethodFrom June 2014 to November 2014 in Beijing Anzhen hospital, a total of 86 cases,plaques were examined with ultrasound and Superb Micro-Vascular Imaging,measuring the thickness of plaque, plaque neovascularization observed location and density, and comparison of real-time contrast-enhanced ultrasound examination results, he results were compared between 2 groups.ResultThe accuracy, sensitivity and specificity of Superb Micro-Vascular Imaging in the diagnosis of neovascularization in carotid plaques were 90.3%, 76.9% and 93.8%,respectively, Superb Micro-Vascular Imaging has high coincidence rate with contrast-enhanced ultrasound in diagnosis neovascularization in carotid plaques(kappa=0.754, p<0.05),prompt Superb Micro-Vascular Imaging results reliable.ConclusionSuperb Micro-Vascular Imaging convenient, non-invasive, non-radioactive,neovascularization within carotid plaques may be sensitive display,can be used as a reliable method for the diagnosis of neovascularization in carotid plaques.
