Objective: Tibetan medicine is one of the world’s four major traditional medicines, it has a long history and a complete theoretical system. Especially it is rich in concepts of " Mi Na bar Gnas pa"、disease diagnosis and unique treatment methods both in theory and practical skills. According to Classic Tibetan Medicine work like rgud bzhi and analyzing other modern Tibetan Medicine literatures,to understand that personality in Tibetan medicine is based on the theoretical system of“rlung”、“mkhris pa”、“bad kan”, which are the core theory to describe and summarize" Mi Na bar Gnas pa" and other contents of medical treatments, in which also including formation, classification and Identification of the personality, so three Nyba has a close relationship with personality and there are seven kinds of personality in Tibetan medicine. In short,1. Due to different personalities need different treatments, therefore it is essential to improve theoretical system of Tibetan medicine in "Mi Na bar Gnas pa", and also needs to further study on personality formation and identification in Tibetan medicine. 2. To manifest the relationship between personality and “Mi Na bar Gnas pa "will not only improve people’s health condition, but it also has an important academic value on Tibetan medical theory research. 3. To explain characteristics of personality in Tibetan medicine, and to understand scheme of "Mi Na bar Gnas pa" plays an important role of theoretical guidance for diagnosis and treatment, prevention and many other fields in Tibetan medicine.Methods: The method of theoretical research is adopted for the research, and mainly analyze classical Tibetan medicine books like Sman dphyad zla bai rgyal po, yan lag brgyad pai snying po bsdus pa, rgud bzhi, Sman dphyad gces pa grub pa and other related classical Tibetan medicine books, by using comparison, analysis, induction, summary analysis methods, for understanding classification and identification of the personality in Tibetanmedicine. Besides, referring on medical psychology and related literatures which mentioned about personality, temperament, character and blood type in western medicine for comparing related concepts with Tibetan medicine. Especially analyzing details concept of the formation, classification, significance identification of personality in Tibetan medicine, and showing relationship between “Mi Na bar Gnas PA" and clinical therapy.Results: Personality formation in Tibetan medicine is influenced by parent’s blood, mother’s life style, climate, environment, and participation of the soul and karma during pregnancy. different personality determines by the basis of “rlung” 、 “mkhris pa” 、 “bad kan”. Compared with other medicine system, Tibetan medicine has integrity theory of personality, which explains formation of personality from conception and identification of embryonic development, and it coverage by integrity of whole body and mind, so the personality mentioned in Tibetan has an important relationship to the physical and mental health and causation of the disease. according to classical Tibetan medicine books and modern related literatures of Tibetan medicine,that personality is divided into seven categories, simplex personalities are “rlung”、“mkhris pa”、“bad kan”; bio-mixed personalities are "rlung mkhris", "bad rlung" and "bad mkhris";tri-mixed personality is " rlung mkhris bad kan ". The characters’ of different personality is describe by combing of physical and psychological characteristics.Tibetan medicine believe that the key of free disease and prolonging life lies in whether get predisposing factors or not, so the fundamental method of "Mi Na bar Gnas pa" in Tibetan medicine is for different personality and individual needs to coordinate with the four causes of disease prevention like seasonal, evil(unexpected factors), diet and living conditions. Thus understanding personality formation and identification by three Nyba in Tibetan medicine is priority work of the theory and practice of "Mi Na bar Gnas pa", which has an important relationship for prevention physical and mental disease.
