Objective VTE is a fairly common disease, it mainly include deep vein thrombosis(DVT) and pulmonary embolism(PE). DVT refers to abnormal blood clotting in the veins and impedes venous return. The dislodgement of emboli from the vessel wall can form a thrombotic embolism, and cause PE, myocardial infarction, and stroke; it can not only prolong hospitalization, but also increase hospital costs and the mortality. To better understand DVT, this article discuss the risk factors, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of DVT.Methods The retrospective of 397 cases, clinical data who were diagnosed of DVT by Doppler ultrasound or lower extremity angiography were come from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University between June, 2012 to June, 2015.Results Most of the 397 DVT patients were over 40 years old, accounting for 92.4%, in which the 71-80 age group was the largest proportion, accounting for 24.9%. 86.1% of the patients had acquired risk factors. It were include stroke, bedridden, infection diseases, current smoking history, hypertension, trauma fractures, cancer, diabetes, brake, previous VTE history. The most common risk factors include over 40 years old, bedridden, infection diseases. Surgery history, infection disease, hypertension and pregnancy/postpartum have difference in the group ≤40 years and > 40 years old group of patients, and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05). Most of the clinical manifestations of DVT were asymmetric limb swelling, the left lower limb was always involved by DVT and proximal vein was more common. D- dimer, color Doppler ultrasound, venography in diagnosing DVT positive rates were 90.4%, 98% and 100%. The group of data using anticoagulant therapy 81 cases; three cases of thrombolytic therapy; anticoagulant +thrombolytic therapy 286 cases, and the statistics showed that therapeutic effect of combination therapy was superior than monotherapy. The group of DVT complicated by PE had 30 cases, symptoms were improved after treatment, no deaths; Deaths in the treatment period occurred in 11(2.8%) patients, the main cause of death was infection. Conclusion DVT occurs in people over age 40, and the incidence rates increase markedly with age. Asymmetric swelling of limbs, limb pain and hypermyotonia is a common manifestation of DVT.D- dimer, color Doppler ultrasound, CTV, MRV have a direct help in the diagnosis of DVT.The therapeutic effect of combination therapy is superior than monotherapy.
