PART Ⅰ:ANALYSIS OF ITEM SELECTION OF THEQUESTIONNAIRE OF MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTNUTRITION AND FOOD SAFETY KNOWLEDGE、ATTITUDE AND PRACTICEObjective: To develop a nutrition and food safety knowledge、attitude and practice scale for middle school student and evaluate the reliability and validity.Methods: The scale was developed by the focus group and the nominal group, a total of 40 middle school students was selected, then seven methods were used in item selection. Finally, the scale was evaluated the reliability and validity by the 1291 middle school student.Results: The 70-item scale was formed, the liability and validity of the scale was acceptable after evaluated.Conclusion: The revised scale is typical, sensitive, and stable, it can be used as proper scale to evaluate for the middle school students in the future.PART Ⅱ:THE EFFECT EVALUATION OF SCIENCEOUTREACH METHOD ON CHONGQING MIDDLESCHOOL STUDENTS ABOUT NUTRITION AND FOODSAFETYObjective: To evaluate the effect of three different science outreach education intervention methods, namely "Lecture", "Poster", and " Network" respectinely, to improve adolescents’ dietary behavior and to provide guidance for science outreach activity.Methods: A total of 182 students from 4 high schools were randomly selected from high schools in Yuzhong district by the cluster sampling. The 3 schools as the intervention group, 1 schools as the control group. "Lecture", "Poster", and "Network" intervention were carried out in the intervention group, intervention time for 6 months, the control group without any intervention. Evaluation of the effects included qualitative and quantitative assessment, qualitative assessment with group interviews before and after the intervention, quantitative assessment with the KAP scale before and after the intervention.Results: Nutrition and food safety KAP scores were 61.0%, 64.7%, and 70.8% respectively, most of the students had unreasonable dietary behavior, such as eating snacks instead of breakfast, compared with the control group, three different intervention types of science outreach method could improve the nutrition and food safety knowledge and attitude scores of middle school students(P<0.05), but were not effectively improve students’ nutrition and food safety behavior(P > 0.05).Conclusion: The nutrition and food safety KAP score of middle school students in Chongqing City is low, it is necessary to strengthen school education, family education, peer education, and enhance the cooperation between different departments. In addition, adjusting intervention content and form, it is in favour of enhancing the knowledge level of students, improving the unhealthy dietary behaviors.
