The Study Of Chapter-after-chapter Style Short Lyrics Of Sanqu Of Yuan Dynasty

Chapter-after-chapter style short lyrics are a number of short lyrics which are written in the same tune name around a central idea. There are lots of compositions of chapter-after-chapter style short lyrics in sanqu of Yuan Dynasty, but there is no specific academic research papers, leaving a gap filled by this article. Firstly, the writer calculates the total number of extant chapter-after-chapter style short lyrics of sanqu of Yuan Dynasty and analyses its two modes of communication:singing and writing, which is followed by the research of construction of musical form; On this base, further attention is paid to three chapter-after-chapter forms:common form, repeated form and fixed form which is divided into four categories—four-thing style and songs of four seasons, songs of five gengs, eight-view style and songs of twelve months—and made detailed analysis; Then discusses the common contents and wrinting features of four themes, including sighing and hermitage, history and nostalgia, love and missing and travelling and view; At last selects five representative writers—Lu Zhi, Feng Zizhen, Zhang Yanghao, Zhang Kejiu and Wang Yuanheng—and analyses form skills and style features of their compositions and their impact on other writers. In particular, this article respects the compositions expressing their subject matters by their chapter-after-chapter formal features. In the study, both of synchronic comparision and diachronic evolution are emphasized. All in all, it strives to be comprehensive, integrated study of form, content and artistic style of chapter-after-chapter style short lyrics of sanqu of Yuan Dynasty, and a comprehensive discussion of their artistic achievements.
