Study On The Function Diversity Of The Accient Chinese Character Units

The Chinese character of Kou· in the acient words not only has great function of wordformation, but also has the function in constructing the form of Chinese character, such aspictographic character, associative compound function, indicaing the pronounciation, markingsigns, and decorative functions. In this sense, picking up almost of the characters whichinclude the unit of Kou· should has typical sense in indicating the diversity of the wordformation of the acient words· units. It will inply the development and the evolution of theacient words. In this paper, the unit of Kou· selected from the the Jia Gu Wen Bian,Jin WenBian and Zhan Guo Wen Zi Bian is anylized about its formation of word, the total number ofwhich is157. The charactersof the unit Kou· in the foramation of words, such as complexity,diversity, are obtained What·s more,in order to indentify the words much more clearly, theconfusion about the unit Kou· is also studied in this pape.
