The Korean peninsula is in a special geographical position that is close to theEast Asian continent in the west and adjacent to the Japan Islands in the east, so that itis plays an important role on the exchange in China, Japan and Korea. Because of thegeographical convenience, and the close political relationship in all previous dynasties,there are frequent exchanges between China and Korea, which are far from than inother countries and contain more than thousand years of medical communicationactivities.From the point of local area of Korean peninsula, the most important stage ofKorea local medical development is the Korea dynasty. During this period, thegovernment had attached great importance to the development of medicine. Koreadynasty localized medicine in every way and these attempts made great achievements.Therefore, Korea established its own system and developed independently. From theother point of both countries’ exchange activities, Ming dynasty was the last periodthat both countries had the frequent exchange with each other. In the meantime, theexchange activities almost reached its peak. After Ming dynasty, these activities werenot as frequently as before, because of various reasons.Ming dynasty and Korea dynasty were two concepts of time that existedsimultaneously on different space; in fact, they once coexisted for two hundred years.So, it is very necessary to conduct a study on the medical communication situationbetween China and Korea in the Ming dynasty, that also in the early of Korea dynasty.Via the researches of it, we can explore the medical cultural exchange; understandwhat kind of relations between the two countries; what influence on each other’sculture under these exchange activities, and have a greater understanding ofdevelopment process of the medicine in China and Korea.
