Books communication occupies an important position in the cultural exchanges and bears rich political connotation. The great significance is there for understanding Korean culture construction and culture and political relations between Korea and both Ming and Qing.The subject studies books exchanges between Korea and both Ming and Qing on the basis of existing research results and primary source and tries to inspects the backgrounds,the ways,the types and characteristics of books communication. And analyzes the cultural relations between Korean and China’s chinese classics,and inspects the demands of subordinate relations.The thesis includes three sections which are introduction,body and conclusion.Introduction mainly explains the aim, significance, related research background, research methods and defined the involved concept such as "books"and limit of time.Chapter one briefly describes the history of books exchanges in Kogurgo, Paekche, Silla and Koryo periods of Korea, interprets the political and cultural basis of books communication between the two countries. For example good-neighborly and friendly policy of Ming, Confucian effors and moralization policy, the prosperity of books in compiling and publishing are the political and cultural basis. Choson cultural policy and different cultural mentality of Ming and Qing has produced important influences on the books communication.Chapter two describes the situation of books exchange between Korea and both Ming and Qing. Both sides of envoys play an important role in books exchanges. Giving books on Ming court’s own initiative or requesting books is the principal forms of books exchanges in Ming Dynasty, sometimes envoys obtain books through money or giving each other. Buying is the main form of books exchange in Qing Dynasty, communication between envoys and scholars contribute to books exchange,especially in the late Qing dynasty, Choson envoys take books to China actively in order to gain recognition. In addition, books exchange is always both-sides communication.Chapter three explores the refute around unofficial history of Joseon Dynasty. The refute which lasted nearly four centuries is a product of Sino-Korean vassal relations, not only exceeds the level of cultural exchange but also rise to an important part of political negotiations. Books refute is the perception of the orthodox crisis, at the same time it has exposed the vulnerability of the monarchy and it is an inevitable choice in order to maintain the real interests. Ming and Qing court control books refute as suzerain and deal with Korean books refute according to the actual needs.Chapter four analyzes the cultural relations between Korean books and Chinese books. Imitating and following, selecting and adaptating, translating and annotating, these ways above-mentioned are the forms of Korean accepting Chinese books.Chapter five expounds the effect on both China and Korea. The impact of books exchange is bound to be both-sides, Chinese books play an invaluable role in promoting social and cultural development of Korea, for example Korean creat the character of the nation on the basis of Chinese character, make adjustmens in "Huayi Concept" in different historical conditions, promote the development of the Korean philology and drive the prosperity in Chinese creation; at the same time, Chinese scholars has gradually recognized and accepted the value of the Korean culture,Korean books which inflow to china not only increase the amount of China’s books, but also enriched the content of Chinese literature and academic research.The conclusion summarizes the key points from the motivation of books exchanges between Korea both Ming and Qing dynasty, the political significance behind the exchange, the relationship between books exchange and Huayi Concept and the media of communication.
