In the Ming Dynasty, the Korean Peninsula and the Ming Dynasty were in close contact in various aspects, which was proved by the fact that the Korean Penisula sent its envoyes to the Ming Dynasty frequently."records of pilgrimage to Ming Dynasty" was produced under this kind of background, in which the Korean Peninsula envoys described all aspects of the Ming Dynasty through what they encounterd during the trip to the Ming Dynasty from the point of view of foreigners. It contributes to better understanding the actual situation of China at that time.From the perspective of comparative literature, the study intends to analyse the image of Liaodong in the Ming Dynasty described by the foreigners.Many relevant materials about about the image of Liaodong in Ming Dynasty were collected from many versions of "records of pilgrimage to Ming Dynasty",on the basis of which, the study tries to analyse and clarify the image of Liadong in the Ming Dynasty.The thesis includes five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which clarifies the purpose and significance of the research, the research trends, the structure of the paper and the research methods. The main part of this thesis is following four chapters.The second chapter introduces the basic information of the works in "records of pilgrimage to Ming Dynasty" including the number of the works, the time when they were created and so on.The third chapter first decribes the routes that the envoyes covered in Liaodong and then divides the works in "records of pilgrimage to Ming Dynasty"according to the different routes, which is of help to analyze the image of Liaodong from the perspective of geography.The fourth chapter anaylzes the image of Liaodong from the perspective of comparative literature image, and in order to get a more real image of Liaodong, it is mainly divided into three parts to discuss; 1 the natural and humanistic landscape image of Liaodong 2the image of people in Liaodong 3the negative image of LiaodongThe fifth chapter discusses the value of the research on the image of Liaodong from the perspective of history, literature.
