The Research On The Creation Of Urban Landscape Oil Painting Among Contemporary Young Painters

As a new subject for oil painting creation, urban landscape plays an important rolein the multi-developments of oil painting. Especially in recent years, great attentionshave been made on the outstanding works from the young artists. This thesis focuseson the creation of oil painting on urban landscape among contemporary young artists,demonstrated the achievements and breakthroughs on the theme, the language ofpainting, the spirit connotation and the creation methods. This thesis includes5chapters as follows:Chapter1is the introduction. This chapter has4sections, which involves theresearch background, the research methodology, the research aims and contributions toscholarship, and the innovations of the research.Chapter2is the research on domestic urban landscape oil painting. The evolutionand present state of the domestic urban landscape oil painting are separately discussedin2sections.Chapter3is the research on the creation of urban landscape oil painting ofcontemporary young artists. The chapter has3sections. Section1is the overallcreation level assessment of contemporary young artists. The overall creation level isobjectively assessed with statistical chart by investigating and selecting theirrepresentative artists of different provinces across the country, as well as thecomprehensive information from the National Exhibition of oil painting, regionalexhibition of oil painting, exhibition, galleries, auction houses, art website andmanager etc. Section2includes the case study on young oil painters. Three paintersnamely Haijun Du, Lei Shen, and Xinquan Pan are chosen from dozens of young oilpainters to analyze their art experience, art characteristic, and creation expression asthe format of case study. These painters are the representatives in young paintersregarding the best creation performance and the research directions on urban landscapeoil painting creation. Section3describes the creation difference between generations.Three issues are specially analyzed. First is the specialization and typicality in topicselection. It has been proven that young painters are looking for the themes where it isblank in history, or less studied, from which their personal painting method andexpression style are established. The second is their positive action in constructingtheir individual painting consciousness, demonstrating the importance of understanding painting method radically. Thirdly, more attentions are attracted to theexpression of the mental condition of city people. The livehood in the city areappropriately expressed by young oil painters, addressing that the works will bepersisted as long as the contemporary national spirit is hold and the current mentalreality is grasped.Chapter4concerns the creation contribution of contemporary young oil painters,which are discussed in2sections. Section1is the breakthrough in the beauty of artistic.Their various endeavors to breaking through the traditional aesthetic methods are feltfrom their works. Thereby the conclusion is made that the visual experience ofcontemporary society can still supply fresh sense of formation. Section2is thereference and application of Chinese traditional art. First is about the construction ofartistic conception in realistic pictures. Their own artistic conception in a realistic wayis demonstrated with an example of Lei Shen. Second is the meaningful expression inenjoyable pictures. Their own artistic conception is demonstrated in a Chinese estheticmeans with an example of Xinquan Pan.Chapter5is the final chapter, which involves the shortage of young oil painters’creation on urban landscape oil painting. The extension and forecast of creation ofurban landscape oil painting are also evaluated.
