Spatial relations are the most important and basic relations in the objective world. Chinese and Uyghur belong to different types of language, but there are the nouns of locality in both languages to express the spatial relations. However there are some similarities and differences because of the different types of language and cognitive styles. The final goal of language contrast lies in discovering the similarities and differences in languages and makes the explanation. In using the method of contrastive linguistics, this thesis describes and contrasts the similarities and differences of Chinese and Uyghur spatial relations on the both‐way. And with the usage of cognitive functionalism for reference, the paper explains the similarities and differences.
