Experiment Research On Normal Individuals’ Attentional Bias Under Different Conditions Of Attentional Resources

Attentional bias has become one of the hottest researchissues in emotional and cognitive neruopsychology. Previousstudies have mostly focused on participants with emotionaldisorder，and these participants have shown larger attentionalbias to negative information. Whereas some studies onattentional bias for the normal individuals had not producedconsistent results. Some studies have shown that attentionresource may be one of the major reasons of their differences.Based on previous research conclusions, our study will explorenormal individuals’ attentional bias under the condition ofsufficient attention resources and lower attention resources.In this study, we have manipulated the variables ofattention resources with cue-target paradigm, and withsufficient attention resources as effective cue and lowerattention resources as invalid clues；invalid clues is thecondition of lower attention resources.Twenty-seven participants who came from Guizhou NormalUniversity have involved the first experiment. In the firstexperiment, in order to investigate the normal individual’sattention bias to different emotional pictures with sufficientattention resources condition or with lower attention resources, three different levels of emotional faces were usedas stimulus.Twenty-seven participants who came from Guizhou NormalUniversity have involved the second experiment.In the secondexperiment, to investigate the normal individual’s attentionbias to different emotional words with sufficient attentionresources condition or with lower attention resources; threedifferent levels of emotional words were used as stimulus.Seventeen participants who came from Guizhou NormalUniversity and Guizhou University have involved the thirdexperiment. The experiment combined with ERP technology. Inthis experiment, to investigate the normal individual’sattention bias to different emotional scenes pictures withsufficient attention resources condition or with lowerattention resources, three different levels of emotionalscenes pictures were used as stimulus.The results showed that:(1) normal individuals who are under sufficient attentionresources condition or with lower attention resource condition,both have shown attentional bias on positive faces.(2) normal individuals also have shown attentional bias onpositive words under both conditions. (3)In the scene images experiment combined with ERPtechnology, normal individuals have shown the priorityprocessing under the condition of sufficient attentionresources, and shown priority process in positive scenario.
