The Affection Of Personality Traits On Unconscious Thought Effect

During the past20years, decision-making psychology has become one of research hot spot in the fieldof psychology research.The unconscious thought theory (UTT) put forward by Dijksterhuis et al in2006, isa hot research field in the rise of a new research subject. According to the theory, there are two kinds ofhuman thinking mode-conscious thought and unconscious thought. Conscious thought is suitable for simpleproblem of decision-making, The unconscious thought is suitable for the complex problem of decisionmaking. The unconscious thought promotes to solve complex problems, This is known as the UTE ordeliberation-without-attention effect. However, many studies have found that the UTE is not stable.Dijksterhuis et al discusses the factors influencing the UTE stable, from the perspectives of researchparadigm, problem complexity. Different from exploring the UTE of external factors of stability, thisresearch attempts to study the effect of internal factors-personality on the unconscious thought, to provethat personality traits is an important role of the UTE, That not all individuals using the unconsciousthought to solve complex problems can appear the UTE.This study discusses which personality traits affectUTE and its mechanism.This study based on the past research paradigm, investigate Suggestibility trust, and A/B typepersonality traits on unconscious thinking. Through the study we get the following conclusion:First, Suggestibility has a significant influence on the unconscious thought; Trust has a significant influenceon the unconscious thought.Second, A/B type personality has significant influence on the unconscious thought, at the attitudedifferences in roommate choice task,The individuals of type A significantly better than type Bpersonality.On the theory level, this study further expand and deepen the understanding of the unconsciousthought, integration of the current unconscious thought research results. Take the personality traits in theunconscious thought theory, from the perspective of personality explains the current research results. In thereal level, this study provides a guidance for the people how to use the unconscious thought to make abetter decision to solve complex problems.
