In the modern times of Hankou, constantly encountering natural disasters, militarydisaster impact. Hankou existing urban system was completely destroyed, but the faceof this harsh urban environment, Hankou after the1849natural disasters until theRevolution, but has maintained a sustained growth. In this process, Hankou usheredin a new wave of modern foreign population. Articles that these migrants andHankou urban social development and change are closely related to changes in theforeign population in large commercial cities play a crucial role in the traditionaltown in Hankou. In this paper, collation and analysis of the full basis for the modernhistorical Hankou on the Modern History of a detailed analysis of Hankou, trying tobe able to analyze in detail the relationship between the two. To achieve this goal, thedissertation is divided into three parts:Chapter one illuminate briefly describes the rise of the Ming Dynasty, Hankou Town,as well as the source of the Ming and early Qing foreign population. Meanwhile,social structure, municipal construction, social security, culture, education, urbanconstruction and other aspects have emerged corresponding transformation andimprovement, modern city of Hankou gradually formed its own urban character.These changes are all urban society is heavily influenced by foreign population, the immigrant population as a modern Hankou provide manpower, capital, advancednotions on cities and urban transformation of Hankou played a great role inpromoting.The third part analyzes the impact of the relationship between each other migrants tourban social changes arising through from the lower external conflicts of interestamong local and foreign people between the Western powers and the urban upperclass conflict between, competition and cooperation between foreign businessmen,three aspects of the relationship between the foreign population Hankou carried out adetailed analysis to arrive at the city community is made up of people, whetherconflict or cooperation among people will produce an immeasurable impact on thecity, the city will gradually change in such a conflict and cooperation. And as a cityof immigrants, Hankou more have to face is the relationship between these outsiders,because this is not only because they are the main component of the city ’s population,but they are also the urban development, the main driver of change.Finally, the conclusions of social transformation in the modern city of Hankou, theforeign population has played a very important role, they influenced the developmentof the city of Hankou, for the city to provide labor and capital as well as advancedtechnology and modernization of the city thought. Meanwhile, the city of Hankouadvances also allow them to gradually integrated into the city’s system, whichconstitutes an important source of modern Hankou people.
