The literature of post-80s has been controversial and been concerned a lot fromthe moment they rose. As a literature genre which expresses the post-80s’ feelings ofgrowing up, it demonstrates the post-80s’thinking of self, others and the whole world.Through text analysis of the post-80s’ female literature, this thesis tries to find outvarious problems reflected in it. What’s more, the thesis explores the uniquecharacters of post-80s’ female literature. This thesis argues that growing up fromconsumer culture, female subject of post-80s have the feature of post-modern, fragmentation and pluralism. The thinking of I in post-80s’ female writingreflects in mental, physical and other aspects. Through social culture construction, thesubjectivity shows a multi-faceted self, which is an unstable post-modern one.This paper is divided into five parts. Introduction mainly focuses on subjectivityin philosophy. It makes cleat the concept of subject and combs different philosophers’views on subjectivity from different periods and different genres as well as womentheorists’ study on subject, especially on female subject in the field of feminism. Thefirst chapter is a brief review of post-80s’ female literature. It defines the concept ofpost-80s first. Then, this chapter divides post-80s’ female literature into differentphases in chronological order, introducing major works and writing features ofwomen writers of every period briefly. The second chapter explores the core issues ofsubject contained in the text through the analysis of the texts written by post-80s’women writers, including the problems of self, mother and daughter issues, desire andbelief issues. These issues reflect the uncertainty of post-80s subjects. The thirdchapter analyzes the physical and gender problems in post-80s’ female writing.Women’s body experience is an important source of women writing. In the context ofconsumer culture, body becomes a significant field and horizon which bears subjectidentity and self-identification. Gender trouble demonstrates the diversity of subjectidentity. Conclusion summarizes the whole thesis, reiterating female subjects ofpost-80s have features of post-modern. |
