Don Delilo(1936-present) is one of the most prominent novelists in Americancontemporary literature world. As a "Kaleidoscope", Delillo’s novels created a greatreflection to many realistic problems of the American contemporary society so that hewas also known as the "America social copier". His works are filled with thoughts ofirrational producting or living ways of human race and inquiry on the spiritual worldof alienation in post modern society. He wrote works with a strong consciousness ofecological responsibility to show us every kind of the crisis to human race. Becauseof this, this paper attempts to put Delillo’s novels in the perspective of ecologicalcriticism to analysis the relationship of "human and nature" and "human and human"and "human and ego" in these novels, to explore the novel content in the naturalecology, social ecology and spiritual ecology, to find out Delillo’s ecologicalconsciousness and human solicitude which hidden under the label of the post modern.Warning people to establish the urgency and necessity of right view to ecologic.This paper mainly consists of the following parts.The first part is introduction. Making a summary of Delillo’s life and writingtrajectory. Then introducing the situation of domestic and foreign research of Delilloand his works. And making a briefly introduction to the significance of the researchand summarize the research methods of this thesis.The second part is the main body part. From "human and nature""human andpeople" and "human and self" three angles were taken to explore the work of Delilloin the natural ecology, social ecology and spiritual ecology. Discussing therelationship between man and nature include two aspects:human destruction to theoriginal nature and devastation of "humanized nature"; The relationship betweenpeople and people discussed the relationship between ethnicity, the relationshipbetween male and female, after the relationship among family members;The relationship between human and ego will begin from the three mainconditions of human spirit world in post-modern society which mainly about the lostof faith, the fear of death, traumatic memory in three aspects. Respectively discussing which will cause non-harmonious ecology in area of natural, social, spiritual andfinding out the root causes of these defects.The third part is the conclusion of this paper which i make a summary ofDelillo’s novels, the ecological meaning and practice value of his work.
