Relation Study On Bicultural Identity Integration, Ethnic Essentialism And Group Identity

With the increased communication and exchanges of different nationalities, thehan culture and ethnic culture have more and more contact,and have both conflict andfusion between different cultures. Especially for minority college students, as a resultof campuses in the han nationality region, the opportunity to contact with the hannationality college students generally increase, they accept modern culture at the sametime, and to preserve the traditional culture of ethnic. Therefore, issue of ethnicidentity and cultural adaptation on them will behave even more highlighted.Thepresent study through questionnaire has carried on the investigation for182hui andTibetan college students, the results show that:1、The hui college students in-group identity and out-group identity weresignificantly higher than Tibetan students, significant difference; And hui and Tibetancollege students have in-group bias phenomenon;2、In the out-group identity,High BII minority college students is significantlyhigher than low BII ethnic minority college students; But, in the in-group identity,there is no significant difference;3、 Ethnic essentialism and Bicultural identity integration in different ethnicgroups,there is no significant difference; Ethnic essentialism in different culturalidentity integration degree, there is no significant difference;4、Ethnic essentialism and group identity exists significant correlation, essentialismhas a positive predictive effect on in-group identity and out-group identity;5、Bicultural identity integration has not predict effect on in-group identity, but haspredict effect on out-group identity; In-group identity has a positive predictive effecton out-group identification.
