The research and writing on History of the Southern Ming is an important part of the Qing Dynasty History. In the period of early Qing Dynasty, there came out a large number of high-quality Southern Ming history books. In the stage of Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong, the Southern Ming history books reduced seriously. In the period after Jiaqing and Daoguang, researching on the history of Southern Ming craze set off again. The books have been changed a lot whose genre, content, the history writers and the geographical distribution presented a stage characteristics. Writing on the Southern Ming history was unbroken.
