Abstract:This article intends to analyze Sartre’s dialectical thought of Critique of Dialectical Reason through his concept of totalization. We argue, Sartre identifies dialectics with the totalization, i.e., the totalization of human practical sphere. Sartre clams that dialectics take effect only in the human practice and that what make the practice totalize is the law of negation of negation. Sartre’s dialectics could be divided into the forming dialectics, antidialectics, and the formed dialectics, corresponding with the three phases of existences:individual practice, collectives and group. This totalization is also following a circle that human being is constantly alienated and free from alienation. Sartre’s explanation of the dialectical totalization is sharp different from Marx’s philosophical standpoint, so he is not to develop Marxism in Critique of Dialectical Reason, but to find his philosophical thinking way on the base of Marx.
