With the growth of dance sports, basic instruction is an essential aspect, bestteaching practices of basic skills of dance is essential to the development ChengduDance Sport programs. This article covers the present state of dance sport instructionin Chengdu university and college sport Institutions, while further investigating theissue for further discussion.This investigation utilized a variety of methods including classroomobservations, review of literature, surveys, interviews, statistical analysis, and otherstudies, and found:Dance sport programs have been established in various universitiesand colleges in Chengdu, with a rise in the trend of development. However, of the sixuniversities and colleges in Chengdu that currently has established dance programs,only Sichuan Normal University Institute of Sports and Xihua University do not offerballroom dance programs, and this affects the overall mastery and understanding ofdance. Promotion and popularization of Ballroom dance needs to be a priority in thecity of Chengdu.From both the instructor and the students’ understanding of dancesport’s basic techniques, musical understanding, body shape and dance posture, fitnessand motor skills, performance techniques and cultural appreciation (six key elements)it was found: Instructors had an incomplete understanding of basic content, and placeda relatively low priority in the areas of performance techniques and culturalappreciation of dance. Therefore it is necessary to improve instructors’ understandingof the fundamentals, and grasp the holistic approach in their instructional practices. Itwas found that the level of basic understanding of basic dance sport instruction ofChengdu dance instructors has a direct relationship with that of the students, and thatthe understanding of the instructor directly impacts the students. However there maybe some variation with the the instructors perceived emphasis of the six elements ofdance with the actual instruction of them.The study finds that the most heavilyemphasized element in actual instruct is basic techniques, accounting for39.5%ofinstruction, while the least developed aspect is cultural understanding, with only6.62%of instruction. The amount of instructional time used in time by the instructoron various elements of dance directly impacts the emphasis students place on thesame elements.From classroom observations and interviews with instructors resulted in a summary of teaching practices, as well as practices specific to each of the sixelements of dance sport and their practical application. The key aspects includedexplanation and intuitive approaches, motivation through competition, interactivelearning approach, the idea-driven approach, leadership approach, and guidanceapproach, among others, as common methods to teach the six elements of dance sport.According to the university, Chengdu Sports Dance Courses survey results found thatbasic skills awareness in schools and schools, teachers and teachers, between teachersand students have the same point with different points and recommendations:1,strengthening teacher team building, improve cash professionalism of teachers,strengthen theoretical study and improve research capabilities.2, three levels of basicskills teachers emphasize awareness and basic skills in the syllabus content clearlyinvolved, norms Chengdu college sports dance teaching content.3, changing theconcept of teaching evaluation and assessment methods.4, issued by the appropriatescientific materials.5, teacher training or dance camps theoretical and practicalknowledge related to the content of basic skills, to educate teachers and dancers sportscontent contained in basic skills.6, in the university training of the professionaldancers from the dance explicit content gradual deepening of the heart, the teachercoaches from deep-seated need to explain the meaning of sports dance.7, in the futureDanceSport school teachers teaching basic skills to strengthen exchanges.Thisinvestigation illustrates the development of dance sport programs, and hopes to be aused as a reference for the furthermost of dance sport in Chengdu and the pursuit ofcreating a holistic approach in dance sport instruction.
