"X yi classifier Y yi classifier" is used very widely in morden Chinese,for example "shen yi jiao qian yi jiao","ni yi kou wo yi kou","dong yi dui xi yi dui","jian yi ge ai yi ge" and so on.This is a repeated form of structure,so this structure can express quantification,and some can express the universal quantification.This paper discusses the structure of X yi classifier Y yi classifier" in detail and divided into six parts:Chapter one is the preface of the paper, which introduces the significance of this paper, previous studies, methods, and corpus sources, etc.Chapter two confines the spectrum of our research, after which we discuss the internal components and syntactic functions of this structure.The components appearing at X and Y could be verbs,nouns,adjectives,pronouns,numerals,etc,and verbs are more.Measure words which constitute the structure can be special or borrowed.The structure of "X yi classifier Y yi classifier" can act as predicate, subject, object, attributive, complement, etc.This structure is an active linguistic phenomenon.Chapter three analyses the internal semantic relations and quantification of this structure,and analyses the characteristic of the quantification. We also try to analyses the reasons for the structure expressing quantification.The components have complex semantic relations."X" and "Y" can be antonym, synonym,and the words which have temporary semantic relations.The semantic types between "X,Y"and"yi classifier" include subject-predicate relations, adverbial-predicate relations,predicate-object relations,and predicate-complement relations. The semantic types between"X yi classifier" and" Y yi classifier" include coordination, continuing relation and causality.The quantification of this structure include substantial quantity, quantity of action, quantity of time.The semantic orientation of "yi classifier" can be the same or not the same.When the semantic orientation is the same,the structure expresses universal quantity.When the semantic orientation is different,the structure expresses alternate and incremental quantity.Chapter four discusses the cognitive interpretation of the structure."X" and "Y" are influenced by some cognitive elements."X" and "Y" are often belong to the same category and have some resemblance between them.The structure of "X yi classifier Y yi classifier" is overlapping of the structure and has the function of expressing quantity,and it expresses an unbounded incremental quantity.In addition,we also analyze the structure using conceptual metaphor theory and gestalt theory.Chapter five contrasts the structure of "X yi classifier Y yi classifier" with the structure of "yi classifier X yi classifier Y".The components appearing at X and Y of "yi classifier X yi classifier Y" could be verbs,adjectives,nouns,and adjectives are more.The components of "X yi classifier Y yi classifier" are more than those of "yi classifier X yi classifier Y",and "X yi classifier Y yi classifier" is more active than "yi classifier X yi classifier Y" in language. In terms of semanteme, the structure of "X yi classifier Y yi classifier" more emphasizes the alternate varying of "X" and "Y",or emphasizes the characteristic of "X" and "Y".But the structure of "yi classifier X yi classifier Y" more emphasizes the varying of the whole structure or emphasizes fast varying.When the components can appear at both the structure of "X yi classifier Y yi classifier" and the structure of "yi classifier X yi classifier Y",these two structures can change from one to the other.Chapter six is the conclusion which summarizes our viewpoints, points to the deficiencies of this thesis and proposes some relevant questions.
