Under the wave of reform and opening up and emancipatingthe mind in the1980s, the influx of techniques and theories of Westernmodernist composers come to domestic such as torrents of Spring, a groupof composers draw on the use of modern Western music techniques totransform and innovate the traditional Chinese music, which in quicklyset off a boom of learning Western modernist technology and theory withinacademic composer system. And in the early1990s it was that formed thefifth-generation composers group represented by a Tan Dun, Guo Wenjing,Ye Xiaogang and other young composers. Their works attracted widespreadattention not only in the country, but also has been recognized andpraised in foreign countries. This paper attempts to combine the twodimensions of musical analysis-technical analysis and musical cultureanalysis through the analysis of micro composing technical aspects ofcomposers’ representative works, summarize the specific composingtechnical characteristics of creation by the fifth-generation composersgroup, and thus enter into issues of cultural concept of musicalcreation.Specifically, the second chapter start with the perspective of thetheory of composing technique, analyzes specific creative techniques ofthe representative works by the fifth generation of composers. Throughdetailed analysis of aspects of pitch control, state-like rhythm,harmony material, form tension and so on, summed up the means oftechniques of different elements which constitute the music, and furthercompared of which the Chinese and Western composing technical thinking.The third chapter is cut into the perspective of cultural context, inthe process of writing with a narrative proposal, show on differentcultural identity and belonging of the music of the fifth generationalcomposers, and in the background of macro-time of the history of creationof modern music to discuss the general characteristics of cultural valuesof the music group. Based on the above, we review the musical teachingof contemporary Chinese academic music and authoring system, and furtherreflect problems of mainstream and non-mainstream,China and the West andTradition and Modernity existed in China’s new music creation. And webelieve that the younger generation of composers who have to be equipped with diverse musical culture and inclusive spirit, then they can getgreater progress in the future development of the new world of music.
