During the Qin Dynasty, the small seal script was reorganized by Li Si, who is the creator of it. Then Li Yangbing in the Tang Dynasty developed it. There were amounts of calligrapher who were skilled in it from the Five Dynasties to Song and Yuan Dynasties. But those people pursued Qin Dynasty’s small seal script blindly and stuck in the mud, thus their style was old-fashioned. The fall of the small seal script continued to the early Qing Dynasty. During middle term of Qing Dynasty, Deng Shiru changed the style of "double Li" and created a new Deng style. His contribution is not only his superb skill but also the significant influence in the calligraphy, which makes the declining calligraphy thrive again. Those calligrapher were influenced by Deng Shiru, such as Wu Xizai, Yang Yisun, Zhao Zhiqian, WU Dacheng, Wu Changshuo. Those people were all followers of Deng style. Some of them were out of the shadow of Deng style, but more essentially to say, they absorbed Deng style.
