Test anxiety is a kind of negative emotion of individual facing exam, who worry about hurting the self-esteem owing to their failure in exam. With the fact that academic performance of student more and more catch society’s attention. A growing number of junior students, even high school students suffer from the problem of test anxiety. Serious test anxiety not only is detrimental to academic performance improving, but also does harm to students’ physical and mental health. Releasing students’test anxiety is an important measure to enhancing academic performance and ensures the healthy development of body and mind.Researchers gave a general introduction to the definition, forming process, reasons, and counseling strategies of test anxiety. There is a significant negative correlation between test anxiety and examination performance, and emotional intelligence, and self-efficacy, and learning ability. There is a significant positive correlation between test anxiety and aspiration, and competition level, and failure. Many factors attribute to test anxiety, such as home education, school education, social environment, and students’ quality. The methods of intervening test anxiety are cognitive orientation therapy, emotional orientation therapy, and technique orientation therapy. The process of releasing students’test anxiety is to change the false cognitive views, then reduce anxiety emotion, and last transform and shape behavioral pattern. In recent years, studies shows that some psychological consultation technologies, such as the method of imagery communication, Sandplay Therapy, and Painting therapy are effective to releasing test anxiety.Sandplay Therapy is one of the most popular psychological treatment technologies now. It’s based on Jungian Analytical Psychology and Eastern philosophy. The therapist offers a safe, free and protected space for the analysand. The analysand could express their unconscious ingredients, create a sand world which like a window of person’s soul house that the therapist can contact with. Sandplay Therapy is usually applied to intervene those children with behavioral problems, autism problems, attachment disorder and attempts to suicide. Students who suffer from test anxiety and bad family relationship also can benefit from the Sandplay Therapy.The paper uses the method of Sandplay, one of the most popular psychotherapy techniques, for the treatment of junior school students’ test anxiety, and illustrates the Sandplay process. The experiment is aimed at testing the effectiveness of individual Sandplay. It employed Test Anxiety Scale-TAS and TAI to one student who has serious test anxiety before and after experiment. The result shows that Sandplay is able to alleviate the anxiety level of the individual students, after two months’therapy.
