Study On Chinese And Thai Linguistic Taboos From The Perspective Of Cross-Cultural Communication

China and Thailand have a long good relation. There are many things in common about culture, but every country has their own characteristic, there also have many differences exist. Linguistic taboo exists in every country, ethnic and society. Either need to learn about the linguistic taboo of the other when in communication between Thai and Chinese, or it will obstruct in communication and make mistakes, worst, it will affect the relation between two people if don’t understand the linguistic taboos.This paper mainly though the perspective of Cross-Cultural communication introduce and analysis of seven topic-related name linguistic taboo, imperial and religious linguistic taboo, physiological and gender-related linguistic taboo, expletive linguistic taboo, number linguistic taboo, personal privacy linguistic taboo and other social topics linguistic taboo. Though the comparison, I will investigate the causes of commons and differences between Chinese and Thai linguistic taboo. Base on this topic, also investigate how taboo work in Cross-Cultural communication and teaching Chinese as a second language in Thailand. I wish this article can heb those students who study Thai or Chinese languages understand and learn the culture differences. Wish those students can truly understand both language and culture when in communication.
