A Study Of Promoting Cultural Undertakings To Realize Overall Prosperities In Xiamen

The Socialist Society with Chinese characteristics in the21st century is in a new stage ofdevelopment, the economic development, political democracy, cultural construction andecological civilization all put forward a new challenge on our cultural undertakings. The highground of cultural development represents strongly in a way the international competitiveness,the initiative and the voice on the view of the trend. For Xiamen, the culture is an importantcarrier of a harmonious society and a city card. The cultural undertaking’s prosperity canpromote the Xiamen’ city image, improve the ideological and cultural quality of Xiamen’citizens, enhance effectively Xiamen’ comprehensive competitiveness. All in all, the culturalprosperity is an important manifestation of economic and social development. Therefore, thepromotion of cultural undertakings in Xiamen to achieve full prosperity is an important issue ofsocial development, and this study also has a strong practical significance.This paper is focusing on the meaning and implementation of cultural undertakings inXiamen under the Marxist theory and the CCP’s ideology theoretical system. Firstly the paperstudies the cultural theory and thinks that the capital theory of cultural undertakings has aguiding role to Xiamen. The non-profit cultural theory can be closely integrated with theconstruction of characteristics socialist culture in Xiamen; of course, the cultural viewpointunder the Marxist-Leninist system is the guiding principle of cultural undertakings in Xiamen.Secondly the paper analyzes the cultural ideological of the CCP leaderships, and focuses on thesuccessful experience of the cultural undertakings at home and abroad, such as the typicalpractice of USA, Europe, Japan and Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, then refines some typical anduseful implications for Xiamen.Thirdly the paper studies the achievement and practical issues ofsocialist culture undertakings in Xiamen, that reasons and influences are discussed. The paperuses a questionnaire method into investigating the focus people in Xiamen on the culture areas.The survey shows that the majority of the population is satisfied with the cultural undertakings’development and more people think Xiamen has the developed private cultures. Since reformand opening, Xiamen has achieved some remarkable results on the cultural prosperity, leadingthe other cities in a relatively level. But at the same time the cultural undertakings in Xiamenhave some gaps compared to developed countries or the domestic first-tier city. Therefore, thisstudy suggests that Xiamen should hold a dialectical perspective on the challenges faced by thecultural undertakings, and give high priority to a few negative effects.Finally, the paper studies five suggestions about promoting the cultural undertakings in Xiamen to prosperity. Forexample, innovative ideas,explicit position and plan, growing work force,increasing the funds,sound long-term mechanism.
