A large number of modern Chinese new words exsit in the form of cluster, it is thenotable feature of the new words. This paper is based on the past study of Chinese newwords and the phenomenon of word groups. We wish it would be helpful to deepen ourunderstanding of the formal and semantic features of Chinese neologism clusters.Chinese neologism clusters, arising from lexical analogy, are aggregations of words orphrases marked by the uniform structure and shared morphemes that carry identical orrelated senses. We begin from the form characteristics of neologism clusters, which includs threeparts. The first one is its syllable features. The second one relates to its scales and activity. Thethird one concentrates on the syllablatic changes of the shared morphemes. As we know, the new groups of common morphemes have contributed many newmorphemes to modern Chinese vocabulary system. It includs some one‐syllable morphemescomes from loanwords and two‐syllable morphemes comes from compound words.Andthen,we talk about the letter words. Whether the letter words can be used as Chinesecommon morpheme is undefined now. What’s more, the semantic feature of Chinese neologism clusters is a matter ofconcern. The neologism clusters have mutual effects on the shared morphemes,as well asother word groups. The construction of the meaning of the neologisms is a process ofintegration which involves the components of the neologisms, the context and the newlyarisen concepts. The basic meaning of neologism clusters are decided by the sharedmorphemes which give the ICM to the whole neologism clusters.
