As a green sunrise industry of the21thcentury, culture industry began to appear in thewestern world during the1920s to1930s. In addition, the increasingly updates of mode oftransmission and media technology provide support for the rapid development of culture industry.After entering the21thcentury, with the combination of cultural industry and information industry,the cultural industry moves into a period of rapid development. Today, the culture industry hasbecome the backbone industry of European countries as well as Asian countries such as Japan,South Korea and so on, and the competition of cultural soft power has quite begun in manycountries. Economic globalization also makes the culture show a trend of global integration,surrounding various world-class cities gradually forming a cultural center with internationalinfluence respectively. The position and role of culture industry in the comprehensive nationalstrength competition is becoming more and more outstanding.China, as an emerging economic entity owing ancient and splendid civilization, should not belag behind in the global cultural competition. Under the government’s great attention and fullydevelopment, culture industry develops quickly and gradually becomes the strategic pillar industryof the economy in our country, playing a crucial role in the process of improving the quality of theeconomy in our country.Combined with relevant literature reviews home and abroad, this thesis first discusses thetheoretical basis of culture industry and the theory of culture industry and economic growth.analyzing the main factors affecting the culture industry to economic growth. And then, byanalyzing the correlation between the development and economic growth from the horizontal, thisthesis gets a conclusion that the development of culture industry and economic growth haverelativity. Later, by utilizing panel data to model, and through the empirical analysis, this thesiscomes to a conclusion that the culture industry revenue and the number of organizations forculture industry have a significant positive influence on gross domestic product (GDP), while thefiscal expenditure of cultural undertakings and the number of people working in culturalinstitutions are negatively correlated with GDP. To further measure impacts on the economicdevelopment from the cultural industry in our country, analyzing the provincial differencesthrough factor analysis, the thesis concludes that the development of cultural industry has aimportant influence on the economic development of most provinces and cities in our country, andbig provincial differences and imbalance among reginald development exist in the development ofChinese cultural industry. Thus, in the end of the thesis, according to empirical conclusion, fromthe main factors affecting the cultural industry, the author puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions to further advance the development of cultural industry in China.In brief, according to relative theories about the impact on economic development from thedevelopment of cultural industry, this thesis combines relevant data, carries on the empiricalresearch on the influence of the development of cultural industry on economic development byutilizing the panel data analysis and factor analysis, and discusses the related countermeasures andsuggestions. Research results will have a certain reference value to the development of culturalindustry in our country and the promotion of regional economic development...
