Sushi’s “Disease-Related Poem” is his poems which is associated with disease. The disease isthe result of poet’s self-review about the current life which is abnormal in the poet’s mind, whetherabout the physical or about the mental. This abnormal state brings great pain to the poet’s mindand eventually leads the words written by the poet, which is called the “Disease-Related Poem”.According to the writer’s research, among the2823poems included in the Sushi’s PoemsAnthology, the Chinese character “bing” has appeared225times, which is7.97percent of the total.There are206“Disease-Related Poem” that is7.29of all. Although the disease brings great pain toSushi’s life, behind the self-pity words are cherish and love of life, the fervent desire of achievethe value of life. These “Disease-Related Poem” of Sushi, comparing with other poems, bettershow his booming vitality and life insights.The thesis can be divided into four chapters. The first chapter discusses Sushi’s physicalhealth and medicine knowledge. The poet has been suffered from many diseases which wereanalyzed as sudden illness, chronic illness and death illness. This is the base of Sushi’s“Disease-Related Poem”. Having a good command of curative, Sushi owned a sober-mind in frontof these diseases. The write gives a brief contradiction about Sushi’s study motivation and studyprocess of medicine, as well as the medicine practice. The writer researches Sushi’s“Disease-Related Poem” in two different perspectives, as a doctor and a Confucian. The secondchapter analyses the creation overview and classification about the “Disease-Related Poem”,simultaneously gives an introduction about the spatial and temporal distribution and the abnormalmentality of Sushi’s”Disease-Related Poem”. The writer learns the creation overview as a wholeand pays attention on three main abnormal mentalities, life frustration, fading sense of life andindividual loneliness. The third chapter explains the causes about poet’s abnormal mentality whichpresents two-side of the personality of Confucian, one is cherish life, and the other is sacrificejustice. This two-side personality leads the abnormal mentality of the “Disease-Related Poem”.Sushi struggled to eliminate the double pain from body and spirit. And finally he combined thephilosophy of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoist, exceeded the badger of abnormal mentalityand reached the realm of heaven and the status of adapting with fate. The fourth chapter researchesthe art features about Sushi’s “Disease-Related Poem”, such as keen sense of life, typicalabnormal imagery, sickly vague description, sentimental image, booming vitality and clear poemstyle.There have been lots of researchers learning about Sushi, while seldom of them focused onhis “Diseased-Related Poem” so that there are no deep and sufficient acknowledge about Sushi.Based on it, this thesis is trying to discovery a more objective and more comprehensive poet, tolearn the developing process of Sushi’s life. Meanwhile, the thesis mentions about the physicalstatus as well as the fatal illness of Sushi, which is extremely important but hardly been researched,wishing to supply the scarcity of previous study.
