The photography theory of The Decisive Moment which proposed by Bresson had played a decisiverole in the history of the development of the art of photography.It emphasizes that photography is to graspthe moment,to cognize and also to feel.Photography is the visual form to express the world.Through theingenious combination of vision,it gave our world the significance of the meaning.The theory of the Decisive Moment reveals the core essence of the photographic art which is differentfrom painting and other arts.It makes the photographic activities raised to a higher level,reached the heightof deep meditation.It made a great contribution for the development of the theoretical system of thephotographic art,amd it also plays a profound and effective role in the guidance of the photographiccreation.This article attempts to examine and explore the thory of the Decisive Moment which proposed byBresson in the angle of aesthetics,and points out the multiple zen in it:photographers and thesubjects,photographers and cameras,cameras and the subjects,and its relationship with the connotation ofphotographic works.Then further discuss the Zen state which formed by the unique factors of thephotographic works,including subject and objective,reality and surreal,real and freehandbrushwork,instantaneous and eternal,stationary and sports,solidification and open,philosophy and life,etc.
