| This thesis is a translation report, which describes the process and achievement of the translation of the fourteenth chapter of Pound, which belongs to biographical literature. Based on Eugene Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory, this report discusses what should be noticed in the translation of biographical literature. Biographical literature is of historic significance and of great literariness, which requires translator to apply the two features to the biographical translation. This report consists of four parts:task description, translation course, case studies, and summary. The first part mainly describes the background, nature and features of the translation. The second part describes the translation processes, including the understanding of original text and preparation. The third part is the core part, describing strategies, methods of translating biographical literary with the "functional equivalence" as a guide. The fourth part is the summary, including translation and the role of the translator. |
