In a sense, meditation mindfulness of Mahasi of Theravada Buddhism has alot of advantages over Chan’s method. The enlightenment that Chan school canget from Theravada Buddhism is that it’s attitude to sila and samadhi. Without silaand sa-madhi yogi can not acquire panna, such as insight. Insight is intuitiveunderstand-ings, namely the direct perception without resorting to the thinkingprocess of the impermanence unsatisfactoriness and selflessness of all physicaland mental phe-nomena.samadhi is that concentration lands on the objects of observation. There aretwo types of samadhi: fixed concentration and moving concentration, Momentaryconcentration, the latter, is very significant in vipassana practice.Drawing on the experience of management mode of Pandita meditationcenter of Theravada Buddhismhas, meditation center of China will benefit muchfrom it in future.As far as the conceiving of “Integration of Meditation of South and Chan ofNorth” is concerned, it is not disavowal of teaching method of Chan School, butdeveloping the top-down teaching tradition of it. This thesis manifest theanthropology’s research characteristic such as expressing the whole throughdetails as well as the value orientation of reality concern.
