The Mount of Niuzhu (牛渚) lies on the south bank of Yangtze River(长江), and belongs to the City of Maanshan (马鞍山市), which used to be called:Dangtu (当涂)The famous sight-Caishiji (采石矶), is part of it. Niuzhu is an important culture landmark for the regions south of the Yangtze River, where we call it "Jiangnan"(江南) This thesis is divided into five chapters:Chapter One is the introduction, mainly talks about the research significance, literature review and literature resources of this thesis; and put forward the three main meaning of Niuzhu Image, which will be detailed explained in the next three chapters.Chapter Two mainly talks about the Niuzhu Image’s meaning of searching for talent scout (伯乐), which centers on the ancient intellectuals’attitude about official career(仕) and the unrecognized talent. Chapter Three mainly talks about the Niuzhu Image’s meaning of looking for bosom friend(知音),which centers on the ancient intellectuals’attitude about sociable (群) and friendship. Chapter Four mainly talks about Niuzhu Image’s meaning of freedom and self-complacent, analyzes the two "handle" of Gu (孤)--which both means lonely and independence, and the relationship between Niuzhu and other poetics images.Chapter Five is the conclusion, which conclude the three meaning of poetics into the relationship between two sets of lyrical traditions--official career or reclusion, Gu or sociable. At last, I point out the core status of freedom spirit in the Niuzhu Image, which comes from the Confucian intellectuals, and lead to deeper thinking.
