"Chinese lyrical tradition" is an academic topic that Shih-Hsiang Chen,a Chinese American scholar,presented at the annual meeting of the American Institute of Asian Studies in 1971,to examine the characteristics of Chinese literature from a comparative perspective of China and the West.Shih-Hsiang Chen believes that different from the western literary tradition centered on epic and drama,China has formed a distinctive literary tradition with lyric as a model.This argument,after the deepening of the theory of Chinese American scholars,and the continuous interpretation of overseas and Hong Kong and Taiwan scholars,has formed a complex and complex academic Genealogy-"Chinese lyrical tradition",which is regarded as one of the most explanatory and extended academic topics in the study of contemporary Chinese literature.This paper,taking Shih-Hsiang Chen and "Chinese lyrical tradition" as the topic,intends to carry out a thorough study of the history and synchronic of Shih-Hsiang Chen 's academic thoughts,and discuss Shih-Hsiang Chen's profound influence on the "Chinese lyrical tradition" as an academic topic and genre.The first part is the introduction.It introduces ShihHsiang Chen and its academic process,and summarizes the development and evolution of " Chinese lyrical tradition " in overseas,Hong Kong or Taiwan.The first chapter of the text is to explore the relationship between the formation of " Chinese lyrical tradition" and the relationship between the new poetry in the early stage of Chen's creation,translation and comment on modern lyric poetry.The second chapter focuses on Chen's study of Chinese classical literature during the period of "Berkeley",to make a detailed analysis of the text and find the "Chinese lyrical tradition ".The third chapter focuses on the theoretical essence and the contemporary outlook of " Chinese lyrical tradition ",and reexamines the contemporary value of " Chinese lyrical tradition " through the dialogue comments of the students.The full text,based on Chen's academic experience and the academic thought in his works,explores how a generation of intellectuals who live abroad and pay attention to reality seek the course of the transformation of Chinese literary tradition in order to better annotate the emergence and connotation of "Chinese lyrical tradition" and to trace the social and cultural background and study of the time through history.The turning of the art circles,combining with the text to explain the production and connotation of the lyric tradition,rethinks its limitations and shortcomings,explores the contemporary significance of "Chinese lyrical tradition",and excavates the aesthetic spirit and humanistic care of Chinese lyrical culture.
