On Life And Death Of Zhuang Zi

There are rich Dialogues on Life and Death in ZHUANG ZI textbook, however it is seldom researched about existence and meaning of life through in those dialogues. This study based on method of visual critique, overviewed the subject and thought of life and death between RU (�') MO (墨) and early DAO (道) schools during the War state period. Then the questions were cleared as concern with human being and meaning, and different point of view rests with different visual standpoint. First point is understood living as valuable and dead evil which from the point of view of WU (物), merely defined human life as bodily existing were argued by ZHUANG ZI, moreover, there has not any reasonable knowledge on living and death, no justifications on good of living and evil of death as well; Second point is understood living, dead and value of life were determined by fate instead of themselves which from the point of view of SU (俗), such point ignored that individual values were depends on individual itself, and to be a natural human were essential than to be a sociable human authentically. Then ZHUANGZI interpreted its point of view of DAO (道) based on DAO theory, from the view, there are no differences and value judgment between human and natural things and human each other, they communicated by QI (气),therefore to live and to die was understood as form and reform of QI, but human’s spirit keeps the authenticity of individual existence. Then meaning of life relies on DAO, which means living naturally, regards life and death itself naturally, meaning of life comes from harmonization between human and nature. Besides, a practical perspective is necessary.
