The Inheritance And Innovation Of Tu-hua Jian-wen Zhi From Li-dai Mins-hua Ji

Li-Dai Ming-Hua Ji is the first comprehensive history of Chinese painting, which haswon the title The Ancestor of Chinese Painting History. Both of its writing system andthe views on painting has a profound impact on future writing about Chinese paintinghistory. Tu-Hua Jian-Wen Zhi is a book on Chinese painting history produced under theinfluence of Li-Dai Ming-Hua Ji.This article consists of five parts, discussing the inheritance and innovation of Tu-HuaJian-Wen Zhi from Li-Dai Ming-Hua Ji respectively. Chapter I is an introduction to thecontents of the two books of Chinese painting history: Tu-Hua Jian-Wen Zhi and Li-DaiMing-Hua Ji. Chapters II and III contains the detailed analysis and summary of theinheritance and innovation of Tu-Hua Jian-Wen Zhi from Li-Dai Ming-Hua Ji by meansof researching the literature on Chinese painting and comparative study. Among the twochapters, chapter II aims at analyzing the reasons why and how Tu-Hua Jian-Wen Zhiinherits Li-Dai Ming-Hua Ji in three different ways: the writing system, manner ofviewing Chinese painting and contents. While chapter III focuses on the innovation ofTu-Hua Jian-Wen Zhi from Li-Dai Ming-Hua Ji in the writing system, views onpainting and contents. Chapter IV explains the impact of the two books on the futurewriting on Chinese painting history. And the last chapter is the conclusion of the thesis.
