Literature Research Of Wutai Temple Mongolian Merit Monuments

Many Mongolian merit monuments found in Wutai area is an importantstarting point of study in Mongolian history, culture and religion. So researchon those Mongolian merit monuments belongs to important content of studyfor Mongolian literature. In this paper, we use way of statistical analysis andtranscription interpretation to study the Mongolian merit monument to make adetailed organize and interpret, especially do the research of inscriptions.It consists of three parts, introduction, body and summary．In the part of introduction, we explain the major study in this paper onmeaning, purpose and methods also make a Summary introduction to thehistory and temporary situation of research.Chapter one, mainly describes the basic situations of Mongolian meritmonument, including quantity, appearance, material and age of build etc.Meanwhile according to information contained in the inscription, make aclassification standard by donate time, donors and donate money then dosome explanation for merit monument.The second chapter, based on description of merit monuments to do adetailed interpretation of inscription, including the inscription grammar habitsand writing formats. After that we use the analysis of inscriptions to find thecause of donation and details.In the last chapter select several typical inscriptions, through to analyzingits contents, verified the identity of its donors to correct that birth deathrecords and other wrong information in many official history literature.Concluding section, summarizes the research of this paper. At the sametime, emphasized these Mongolian monument is having an irreplaceable valueof the Mongolian literature research, such as study Mongolian history,analysis of their culture, religion history, history of religion and diplomatichistory.
