At first, ghosts and gods originated out of human’s fear to nature and animal. Human beings call everything they cannot see or touch to ghosts or gods. In eastern country, people divide spirit into ghosts and gods. Since ancient times, ghost culture is inseparable with Chinese culture, Korean culture, Japanese culture, and it is also an important part of them. Liao Zhai Zhi Yi is a representative work which concerns ghost culture in China. It is a short novel written in classical Chinese, which is about ghosts and gods. It has a high degree of artistic achievement and can be called as the peak of classical Chinese short story. Cheon Ye Rok, a Korean novel which appears in the same period with Strange Tales of a Lonely Studio also tells the stories about gods and ghosts. Cheonye comes from Zhuang zi, means the end of the sky or divergence of the nature. It can be understood as the record of strange things that happens in the world. Japanese ghost culture is very developed and its literature works is also uncountable. Kaidan is one of the Japanese ghost novel and it is called the originator of Japanese strange story.In Liao Zhai Zhi Yi, Cheon Ye Rok and Kaidan, except for stories about ghosts and gods, love and woman also take a big part of the theme. In feudal society, females are not good at expressing their own feelings; they just repress themselves and are in a negative and passive mood. But in these three works, it has unique perspectives about love and women, so they deserve more attention.The paper uses these three novels as the object of research to compare the concept of ghost, view of love, view of female of them from the background of the writer and the formation of the work. Using the parallel research method of comparative literature to analyze the similarities and differences among the works and to indicate the reason of the existence of ghosts and gods, also to discuss the significance of continues development of the ghost literature.
